In the current moment of unprecedented escalating militarism, we must urgently redefine security as human security, rooted in justice, equality, and the wellbeing of people and the planet:

We must reject the false narrative that increasing militarism makes us safer and advocate for building the systems and structures for non-violence conflict resolution.. 

We have learned that militarism does not deliver peace, human rights, women’s rights, or environmental protection. On the contrary, militarism actively destroys the conditions necessary for peace, justice, and sustainability.

Our Priorities

• Publicly advocate to challenge the dominant narrative that increased militarisation increases security.
• Promote the ratification and implementation of the Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and the fulfillment of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty’s (NPT) nuclear disarmament obligations.
• Advocate against nuclear weapons testing, modernisation, and expansion.
• Raise awareness of the current threat of nuclear weapons to humanity and the historical harms on people (including the disproportionate harms on Indigenous Peoples, poor communities and communities of colour, and women and girls) and on the planet.
